Newcastle Critical Care Team Safety Briefing

We are absolutely committed to ensuring our patients get the safest and highest quality care. As part of our drive to ensure this, we hold a Team Safety Briefing every 12 hours (at the beginning of each shift after staff handover).

This ensures the highest quality communication between the different teams and allows for identification of tasks and potential problems for the shift ahead. It also highlights any incidents  from previous shifts so that all staff have the opportunity to continuously learn.

                 The meeting comprises 6 sections:-

  1. Bed Status

  2. Workload

  3. Plan for next admission

  4. Clinical risks

  5. Quality & Audit

  6. Communication
