Hospital Chaplaincy

The hospital chaplaincy service covers a multitude of denominations and faiths.

During times of illness, some patients feel that they, and those around them, benefit from the presence or interaction with a member of their faith, religion or culture. Our hospital chaplains can be very helpful in this time of great need.

We can facilitate visits from most denominations, and are in touch with religious leaders in the local and wider community. Community chaplains or cultural representatives are also very welcome to attend. Please discuss with the bedside nurse or nurse in charge.

Where possible we will aim to accommodate religious needs or rituals into patient care. This will not always be possible. Please inform us of any specialist diet to be followed due to religion.

Sunday services are held in the chaplaincy department.
